1, Paper "Okuno Shintaro's Studying Abroad Experience in Beijing" ("The geibun-kenkyu : Journal of Arts and Letters" No. 114, June 2018, pp. 120-134)
Until now, Okuno was considered to have studied in Beijing (July 1936 - April 1938) with the status of "Resident Special Researcher in China". In Sections 1 and 2 of this paper, by referring to the data stored in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, in the first year Okuno studied in Beijing as a "Third Type of Supplementary Students in China",and in the second year it was pointed out that his status became to "Resident Special Researcher in China ". Also I examined the circumstances until Okuno was chosen to be the "Third Type of Supplementary Student in China" and the "Resident Special Researcher in China". In the third section, I focused on the communication between the Manchu bannerman Xi Daiyuan and Okuno, which has not received attention at all. After clarifying the character of Xi Daiyuan, I pointed out that the encounter with Xi Daiyuan had a great significant influence on Okuno's studying abroad.
2, Research note "A Letter Addressed to Okuno Shintaro" ("Lao She Study Session Report" No. 32, July 2018, pp.5-8)
In this research note, based on newly discovered data, it was revealed that Okuno was keenly interested in Lao She as early as 1929, when Lao She made his debut for the literary world.
3, Paper "Okuno Shintaro and Lao She" ("Commemoration of the 120th Birthday of Lao She, Proceedings of the Eighth Lao She International Academic Conference", January 2019, pp. 348-352)
In this paper, I pointed out that Okuno highly evaluated Lao She's novels much more than Lu Xun's novels. While Okuno merely translated Lao She's "Zhao Ziyue" and "Liutun de", a high-quality translation was done due to his advanced Chinese reading ability and outstanding Japanese expressive ability. Although not achieved, he also strongly motivated to translate Lao She's other works such as "Crescent Moon" and "Camel Xiangzi".
4, Oral presentation "Okuno Shintaro and Lao She" ("Commemoration of the 120th Birthday of Lao She, the Eighth Lao She International Academic Conference", January 12, 2019, Xijiao Hotel Beijing, in Beijing)
The contents of the above-mentioned paper "Okuno Shintaro and Lao She" was orally presented at the academic conference.
