2017年度は本研究の最終年にあたる。研究グループ全体での成果と研究者個人のアウトプットを意識して総括的な研究活動を行った。前者としては, 2017年10月21日に慶應義塾大学三田キャンパスにて, 「世界文学の現在」と称する大規模なシンポジウムを行った。イギリス文学, アメリカ文学, フランス文学, 日本文学といった各国別の文学史を, 地域横断的, 時代横断的な「世界文学」の視点から生産的に読み直そうとする試みであった。また基調講演には, 世界的な日本文学研究者ダミアン・フラナガンさんを迎えて, 夏目漱石とシェイクスピアを世界文学の観点から論じてもらった。以下, 簡単にプログラムの内容を紹介する。

The year 2017 was the fanal year of our project. We were constantly aware of producing both group and individual outputs. As for the former, we held a one-day sympodium "World Literature Now" at Mita Campus, Keio University, on October 21, 2017. The purpose of the event was to rethink national literatures, such as English, American, French, Japanese, in terms of world literature, thereby producing an interactive vision of literary history. In addition to the specialists based in the Kansai area, we have invited Dr. Damian Flanagan, a world-known Japanologist, for the keynote lecture. Here is the program of the sympodium.
