| Abstract |
肺非結核性抗酸菌 (NTM) 症の肺Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) 症の病態解明のため、菌細胞壁脂質であるglycopeptidolipid (GPL)に対する宿主免疫応答、ならびにGPLの病原性を検討した。MAC菌体からGPLを抽出し、質量分析により、GPLの分子構造を解析した。更に、ヒトマクロファージやマウスを用いたMAC感染実験より、GPLが肺MAC症の病態に関与していることが推測された。
To investigate the pathophysiology of Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) pulmonary disease, a nontuberculous mycobacterial infection, we studied the host immune response to a bacterial cell wall lipid, glycopeptidolipid (GPL), as well as the pathogenicity of GPL. We extracted GPL from MAC and assessed its molecular structure by mass spectrometry. Experiments with MAC-infected human macrophages and mice suggested that GPL is involved in the pathophysiology of MAC pulmonary disease.
