| Abstract |
本稿は, 近代日本資本主義の特徴を資本家の存在形態から検討することを課題とする。近代日本では, 資本家になり得た階層は一部の富裕層・中間層に限られており, 彼らの投資動向が資本主義の展開に大きく影響を与えた点で, 一種の「資産家資本主義」となっていた。その投資動向は, 職種, 地域, 各経営主体の志向性により異なったが, 全体として有価証券投資を強めて, 配当・利子収入に依存する傾向がみられ, 特に家業を会社化することを通して, 家と経営の分離を図り, 家業会社からの配当収入を家が運用するに至った。
This article clarifies the features of capitalism on the basis of the type of capitalists in modern Japan. In modern Japan, only the wealthy and the middle class were able to become capitalists, so their investment behavior had a major effect on business fluctuations. Their investment behavior varied with time between occupations, places of residence, and business philosophies, so they generally tended to invest in securities and depended on dividend payments or interest income. The wealthy, in particular, organized their family businesses into corporations and separated them from household management.
