Abstract |
The aim of this investigation was to examine transition of basic physical fitness and activity level among older adults, between Normal Walking and Nordic Walking Exercise. Nordic walking was found to be effective for improving Hand Grip, Sit-and-Reach (sitting trunk flexion) and for increasing motivation regarding walking exercise. Compared to Normal walking, Nordic Walking Exercise showed increased walking time, number of steps, and METS, decreased number of steps per unit time, and fewer calories expended for each step and walking time. Nordic Walking Exercise was a good opportunity for older adults to participate in physical and mental activities.
