本論文では、著者の視点から、XD (エクス・デザイン) プログラムとファブキャンパスの慶應義塾大学湘南藤沢キャンパス (SFC) における進展と課題について述べ、その課題に対処するヒントとなる「Design Support for Creative Problems Solving in Developing Countries (発展途上国における創造的問題解決のための設計支援に関する研究) 」を紹介する。この論文は、共著者のひとりである青木翔平によって2015 年に執筆された博士論文であり、そこで提示された「Cultural Exciter」という概念がプロトタイピング文化とデザインをつなぐ鍵であることが示される。
