KOARA (KeiO Associated Repository of Academic resources) is used to publicly share academic resources produced at, or in possession of, Keio University. These can be accessed by anyone in Japan and overseas after being collected and compiled on the web in an electronic format, with the aim of distributing and conserving the knowledge of Keio University. The contents installed on KOARA have metadata, which facilitate ease of distribution as academic information, and allow them to be effectively searched from Japan and overseas, including Google Scholar and CiNii.
The core system uses XooNips, developed by the neuroinformatic technologies team at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute. KOARA is a system which integrates library modules developed as part of a collaborative project with this team (SourceForge.jp: XooNIps-Library Project). With the support of a cooperative project to create academic repositories of institutes promoted by the National Institute of Informatics, we are progressively enriching data and upgrading systems.
Keio University Media Centers are creating and operating an institutional repository led by the Headquarters for Research Coordination and Administration. Please refer to the operational guidelines regarding the usage of and uploading of materials to KOARA, and actively utilize KOARA as a platform for the dissemination of academic achievements.
