| Abstract |
In Japan, as in most developed countries, all infants are vaccinated against rubella. But during the period 1977-1994, only girls in junior high school were vaccinated. The purpose of this note is to consider possible consequences of this old vaccination policy, if it were maintained for a very long period. Based on a simple mathematical model, it is argued that the rubella vaccination limited to girls might be more effective in protecting female adults.
