中国では20世紀初頭の新文化運動以降、多くの女性作家が登場し、女性を主体的に描く作品を次々と発表した。それらの作品群は現在フェミニズムの視点から様々な分析がなされている。しかし、作品中の男女の関係を分析する研究は多いものの、女性同士がどのような関係を結んだのかという点については、まだ十分な分析がなされていない。本研究は、それら女性作家の作品をシスターフッドの視点から読み解き、新たな作品解釈を行うことを目的とするものである。
今回は留学の機会をいただき、台湾の国立アカデミーである中央研究院の中国文哲研究所に滞在し、研究を進めた。留学期間中には、まず、様々な作家の作品をシスターフッドの視点から改めて読み直すことができた。また、中央研究院図書館が持つ豊富な資料を活用し、文学作品、新聞や雑誌記事等の資料を入手することができた。そして、台湾の研究者らとの交流を通して、研究に新たな視点を持つことができた。
本研究では、過去に論文で取り上げた廬隠、石評梅、丁玲のほか、謝冰瑩、凌叔華、馮沅君、梅娘等の作品にも視野を広げることで、作品の背景にある社会状況や同時代の女性作家同士の交流のあり方についても再認識することができた。女性同士の関係性としては、女学校における関係（同級生、教員同士、教員と学生）、家庭内における関係（母娘、姉妹、妻と妾等）、仕事や革命運動における関係等が挙げられるが、特に、旧式の妻や妾といった立場の女性どう描かれてきたかに注目することで、新旧過渡期の中国における人々の意識の変化の一端をうかがい知ることができた。また、当時の女性作家たちの多くが教師を務めた経験を持つことに注目し、学校という空間と作品との関係性についても考察を深めることができた。留学を通して得た成果は、今後、学会発表や論文として発表する予定である。
In China, since the New Culture Movement in the early 20th century, many female writers have emerged, publishing works that depict women as autonomous subjects. These works are currently being analyzed from various feminist perspectives. However, while there are numerous studies analyzing the relationships between men and women in these works, there has not been sufficient analysis of the relationships women formed with each other. This study aims to decipher the works of these women writers from a sisterhood perspective and provide new interpretations of their works.
Taking advantage of an opportunity to study abroad, I conducted my research at the Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy at Academia Sinica, Taiwan's national academy. During my stay, I was able to reread various authors' works through the lens of sisterhood. Additionally, I utilized the extensive resources of the Academia Sinica library to obtain literary works, newspaper and magazine articles, and other materials. Through interactions with Taiwanese researchers, I gained new perspectives on my research.
In this study, in addition to the works of Lu Yin, Shi Pingmei, and Ding Ling, which I have discussed in past papers, I expanded the scope to include works by Xie Bingying, Ling Shuhua, Feng Yuanjun, and Mei Niang, among others. This allowed me to better understand the social conditions underlying these works and the interactions between female writers of the same period. The relationships between women depicted in these works include those within girls' schools (classmates, teachers, and teacher-student relationships), family relationships (mother-daughter, sisters, wife and concubine), and relationships in work or revolutionary movements. In particular, by paying attention to how women were depicted in traditional roles such as wives and concubines, I was able to glimpse the changes in people's consciousness in China during the transition period between old and new. Furthermore, by noting that many of the female writers of the period had experience as teachers, I was able to deepen my consideration of the relationship between the school environment and their works. The results obtained from my study abroad experience will be presented in future conference presentations and papers.
