Abstract |
銀河系の中心核活動, 中心核近傍の爆発的星形成に関わる, 分子雲化学組成や中心核へのガス降着の研究を行った。直接の目的は, 銀河系中心近傍の中性炭素原子雲の正体の解明である。サブミリ波帯の中性炭素原子輝線のASTE10-m望遠鏡による広域探査, ALMA望遠鏡による高分解能高精度観測を行い, また新規開発した手法による統計解析を組み合わせて中性炭素原子濃度の決定要因を調査した。中性炭素原子雲の分布と中心核近傍へ向かうガス流との共通点が多く見出される一方, 衝撃波解離や宇宙線解離の強い影響を示す統計は得られなかった。これにより比較的低密度の中心核への降着ガスが中性炭素ガスで鮮明に捉えられる可能性が示された。
Investigation of molecular chemistry in the Galactic central region and gas accretion to the nucleus has been conducted through observations of atomic/molecular lines in the millimeter and sumillimeter wavelengths. The immediate aim was to understand the origin of the cloud with atypically rich abundance of atomic carbon. We have performed a large scale mapping of the atomic carbon line using the ASTE 10-m telescope and a high-sensitivity and high-resolutional observation of atomic carbon in the circumnuclear reiong using ALMA. Chemical processes that determine the abundance of atomic carbon has been searched using a new method we have newly developed for this study. We have shown that the atomic carbon cloud is likely to trace gas streaming to the nucleus, but no evidence has been found for the effects of the cosmic-ray dissociation or mechanical dissociation. The atomic carbon cloud may provide a new means by which we observe gas accretion to the circumnuclear region.
