本研究の主たるフィールドは、アジア太平洋戦争末期の特攻作戦を指揮した連合艦隊司令部地下壕と第五航空艦隊司令部壕が存在する、神奈川県横浜市慶應義塾大学日吉キャンパス一帯と鹿児島県鹿屋市一帯である。当初計画では、多様な立場の方々からなる研究協力者とともに、戦争遺跡の調査や研究集会等を行う予定であったが、コロナ禍により2022年度前半まで実施不可能となった。そのため、これまでの研究代表者、研究協力者の調査・研究の成果を中心に多様な情報を集積してWeb上の地図に展開する地図型アーカイブを作成・公開することにし、これを基点に戦争をめぐる対話のネットワークの拡張を目指した公共考古学的活動を行った。
The main field of this study is the area surrounding the Keio University Hiyoshi Campus in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and the area around Kanoya City in Kagoshima Prefecture, where the tunnel bunkers of the Combined Fleet Headquarters and the Fifth Air Fleet Headquarters, which commanded the kamikaze operations in the late stages of the Asia-Pacific War, are located. Initially, the plan was to conduct surveys of war-related sites, research meeting, and so on, with research collaborators from various backgrounds, but this became impossible until the first half of the fiscal year 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it was decided to construct and publish a map-based archive on the web which could archive the results of research and investigations by the principal investigator and research collaborators and other information, and to conduct public archaeological activities aimed at expanding networks of dialogue surrounding war based on this archive.
