本研究では、主に日本最古の仏教説話集『日本霊異記』と中国仏教説話集との比較研究と『東大寺諷誦文稿』の分析を行った。その結果、第一に、中国仏教説話集の表現・説話構造及び思想の影響と独自性が存在したことが明らかとなった。特に、中国では歴史書と認識された説話集が日本では宗教書と認識されていたことなど、『日本霊異記』の成立は中国仏教の受容状況に規定されていたことを指摘した。加えて『東大寺諷誦文稿』の考察から、古代日本の地域社会における仏教法会と『日本霊異記』の編纂には思想的に深い関係があったことを指摘した。以上、『日本霊異記』は東アジア世界の中で独自性をもつ仏教説話集として成立したことを明らかにした。
In this study, we conducted a comparative study of the "Nihon ryoiki" （『日本霊異記』）and Chinese Buddhist collections and analyzed the "Todaiji fujumonkou"（『東大寺諷誦文稿』）. As a result, first, the influence of expression, structure, and thought from Chinese Buddhist collections of discourses on the "Nihon ryoiki" and its uniqueness became clear. In particular, "Nihon ryoiki" was influenced by the reception of Chinese Buddhism, such as the fact that a collection of Buddhist sermons recognized as a history book in China was recognized as a religious book in Japan. In addition, from an examination of the "Todaiji Inscription Manuscript," it was pointed out that there was a deep ideological relationship between the compilation of the "Nihon ryoiki" and the Buddhist rituals of the local community in Japan. In sum, I have shown that the "Nihon ryoiki" was established as a collection of Buddhist discourses with uniqueness in the East Asian world.
