本研究課題では、第一に企業の異質性の観点から国際貿易及び空間経済学の理論を拡張するとともに、企業・地域・歴史データを用いて実証研究を行った。生産性の高い企業がどのように集積するかを分析し、補助金や税金、環境政策などがどう影響するかを分析した。第二に自然災害による企業活動や地域経済への影響を分析し、空間計量やGISを駆使してミクロレベルの分析をした。国際共同研究を推進し、論文はJournal of International EconomicsやJournal of Environmental Economics and Managementなど国際的にトップクラスのジャーナルに掲載された。
In this research project, I theoretically and empirically investigated international trade and economic geography with firm heterogeneity. The project uncovered how productive firms create agglomeration in big market with lowering trade costs. Then I also investigated the impact of natural disasters on firms and regional economies using micro data and GIS and show how resilient survived firms are.
As a result, several papers were published in several top class international journals such as Journal of International Economics and Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
