ブリュッセル近郊の女子宗教施設 (グラン・ビガール、フォレ、ラ・カンブル) の文書史料群の分析から、都市周辺に設置された女子修道院が都市家系と構築した諸関係によって、食料供給に必要な諸条件を整備したことが明らになった。両者は生産の場となる低湿地の開発と経営を行い、土地と資金を融通しながら地域の再編を押し進めると同時に、都市における生産物の販売に関与していった。また、流動的な状況にあった新興の都市家系が肉・魚業者となるためには修道院との関係が決定的な重要性を果たしていた。そこには女子の施設に特有の関係家系の俗人達を含みこんだ複合体という柔軟性が大きく作用していたと考えられる。
This research aims at presenting the significant characteristics to the food-supply fundamentals of the medieval city of Brussels made possible through relationships between convents and some urban families. Some documents in the archives of convents (Forest,
Grand-Bigard, La Cambre), reveal their involvement in the urban dynamics in terms of socioeconomic transformations of the peri-urban landscape. These convents assisted by surrounding families played a key role in the exploitation of the marshes as fish and cattle farming grounds by controlling the flow of the waters. Therefore, these convents helped to create solid boundaries between those families which one will assume the outlets for food production, specifically fishmongers-butchers.
These activities are based on the complex mechanism peculiar to the religious women facilities which kept in close touch with the families of the nuns.Their close cooperation has led to an adaptation
to the changeable conditions of the urbanization.
