| Abstract |
本研究では, 新しいことばを習得するには言語中枢以外のどのような脳部位が関与し, 課題の遂行能力の向上とともにどのような変化をしうるのかを検討した。心理学的検査や近赤外分光法や磁気共鳴画像法を用いた脳画像検査により, 外国語能力の向上に伴い, 右半球にも形態的および機能的変化がみられた。これらの結果により言語中枢外の部位も新しいことばの習得を目的とした課題遂行に関与していることが示唆された。また個人の学習法の違いが外国語の熟達度や認知機能にも差を生む可能性が示唆された。
We used psychological and brain measurements involving near-infrared spectroscopy and magnetic resonance imaging to determine which brain areas are affected by foreign language learning. We have found morphological and functional changes in the right hemisphere, in addition to the areas in the language center. Behavioral results could also help in understanding the different learning paths and provide insights into foreign language education.
