Abstract |
今回の研究では, 新規薬剤のLOTUSが皮質脊髄路を伸長させる可能性が示唆された。一方で, 小型霊長類においては重度脊髄損傷後に歩行リハビリが四足歩行機能を再建させ, さらにリハビリ群では皮質―脊髄間の機能的な神経接続が示唆されたものの, リハビリ単独では二足歩行の再建までには至らなかったことがわかった。今後は両者の治療法を組み合わせることで, 二足歩行を再建させることが重要であり, 現在併用療法を遂行中である。
In this study, it was suggested that LOTUS, a novel drug, could extend the corticospinal tract. On the other hand, in small primates, locomotor rehabilitation reconstructed the quadrupedal locomotion function after severe spinal cord injury, and functional neural connections between the cortex and the spinal cord were suggested in the rehabilitation group. However, it was found that bipedal walking does not recover only with rehabilitation treatment. In the future it is important to reconstruct bipedal locomotion by combining the therapies of both, and is currently undergoing combination therapy.
