| Abstract |
慶應義塾大学日吉キャンパスにおける文系学生を対象とした化学実験のテーマの1 つとして，アルコール蒸留の実験を平成21年度から開始した。その準備をする過程で，蒸留の実験条件を検討した。これにより，マントルヒーターの電力調節器の扱いに特に注意する必要があることが明らかとなった。また，蒸気の温度，共沸混合物と水素結合との関係，および水銀温度計が太く青く見える仕組みなどについても考察を加えた。
