本稿は，近世来の大阪商人，近代期に大阪へ進出した新興商人，大阪周辺地域の事業家の三者の相互連関の視点から関西地域の工業化・産業化を論じる。そして，大阪商人間，あるいは大阪周辺地域の事業家と大阪商人が形成した姻戚関係に着目する。その際，婚姻が重なり，人間関係が密になると，同族集団の色合いを深めることになり，共同経営も行われるようになった。こうした濃密な姻戚関係を本稿では家連合と位置付けた。家連合は，企業家活動を行う上で，経営破綻のリスクを軽減したり，お互いに安定株主になるなどの，セーフティネットの機能を果たした。
This article discusses the industrialization of Japan’s Kansai region by tracing the interconnectedness of Osakan merchants during the early modern period, the merchant class that emerged in the city during the modernization process, and entrepreneurship in the wider Kansai area. It primarily focuses on the alliances forged through matrimony between Osakan merchants and entrepreneurs in the Kansai area. At that time, as marital relationships overlapped and personal relationships became closer, the complexity of family groups deepened, and joint management of businesses became more widespread. This study identifies these close matrimonial relationships as family alliances. The family alliance functioned as a safety net for entrepreneurial activities by reducing the risk of bankruptcy and allowing multiple family members to become stable shareholders.
