Abstract 
本稿の課題は, 1942年に中国山西省で実施された山西学術調査研究団による資源調査の計画立案から成果報告までを検討し, 華北地域における日本の鉱物資源開発へ向けた計画が破綻した要因の一端を明らかにすることである。本稿の考察より, 1941年から必要視された非鉄金属の調達とそれへ向けた本格的採掘が山西省で実施されなかった要因は, 既往研究で指摘されてきた華北地域における資材, 食糧, 労働力, 輸送力の不足のみならず, 1942年の資源調査により非鉄金属資源は埋蔵されていないことが判明していた点も挙げられることが明らかとなった。
