| Abstract |
本稿では, 主著『経済学原理』におけるマーシャルの「供給曲線」の概念を対象とし, それが現代経済理論で標準的とされる供給曲線といかなる点で相異なる特異な概念であるかを明らかにするとともに, 彼が依拠した代表企業の構想に代えて通常の個別的企業の平均・限界費用曲線から出発した場合, それがどのようにして導かれるかをも合わせて考察した。
This paper targets Marshall's concept of "supply curve" described in his main work, Principles of Economics, to clarify how his concept is peculiar as compared with the standard one in contemporary economic theory.
Moreover, it examines how his concept is derived when we depart from orthodox average/marginal cost curves substituting for the concept of representative firms on which Marshall based his argument.
