高橋誠一郎先生は名著『経済学前史』その他の業績において, 西洋における哲学史と経済学との密接な関係を理解することから, 「経済学は, 再びエコノミックスからポリチカル・エコノミーに赴かなければならぬ」ことを学びうる, と述べられている。本論では高橋先生のこの主張の正当性が, ケインズにおけるその確率思想への哲学史的知識の影響と, ラスキンにおける経済学批判への古代哲学の影響を検討することで, 改めて浮き彫りになることを論じる。
In his famous book "Keizaigaku Zenshi" and through other achievements, Professor Seiichiro Takahashi argues that from understanding the close relationship between the history of philosophy and economics in the West, one can learn that "economics must once again go from economics toward the direction of political economy." 
This study argues that the legitimacy of Professor Takahashi's claim is once again revealed by a review of the influence of knowledge as defined by the history of philosophy in his ideas on probability by Keynes and the influence of ancient philosophy in the criticism of economics by Ruskin.
