〈いのち〉の問題を経済思想史のなかでいかに読み解くか。これが, 小論の基本的視座である。この問題を直截的に論じたこの分野の成果は, きわめてまれで, 経済科学の方法的な欠陥を露呈しかねない問題でもある。ここでは, この問題に迫るために, 主として重商主義期の思想における社会的な排除のrhetoricに注目した。商業活動とくに植民地貿易にからむ〈いのち〉をめぐる隠された言説は, 「近代」の経済思想の闇の部分を解き明かす鍵になろう。
The basic question this study addresses is how we analyze the problem of "human life" in the history of economic thought. 
The results in this field where this problem is discussed straightforwardly is extremely rare and reveals the methodology defects of economic science. 
Herein, to approach this problem, I primarily focused on the rhetoric of social exclusion in the ideas of the mercantilist period. 
The hidden discourse concerning "human life" embedded in commercial activities, especially colonialist trade, holds the key for clarifying the dark parts of "modern" economic thought.
