国土交通省は, 平成14年度広島県廿日市市と因島市において, 使用済み小型船舶の1次保管場所への運搬に関する実証実験を行った。この実験データを用いて統計解析した結果, 収集・運搬費用は, 自治体ルートと舟艇工業会ルートで有意に異なることが分かった。また陸上輸送にするか海上輸送にするかによっても収集・運搬費用は有意に異なることが分かった。重回帰分析の結果によれば, 自治体ルートよりも舟艇工業会ルートの方が約12,000～20,000円/隻安く, 海上輸送よりも陸上輸送の方が約6,000円/隻安くなることが判明した。
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport performed an empirical experiment in 2002 in Hiroshima Prefecture's Hatsukaichi and Innoshima cities, related to the transportation of used small boats to a primary storage area. 
The result of statistical analysis of the experimental data clarified that collection and transport costs from the municipality route significantly differ from the boating industry association route. 
In addition, depending on whether opting for land transport or maritime transport, collection and transportation costs significantly differ. 
The results of multiple regression analysis revealed that the costs for the boating industry association route are approximately 12,000 to 20,000 Japanese Yen per vessel cheaper than the municipality route; land ransportation is cheaper than maritime transport by approximately 6,000 Japanese yen per vessel.
