This study analyzes three questions regarding female students in Japan who prior to 1965, selected a general career path of graduating from middle school to find a job at a company, compared with those after 1965 who instead, after graduating high school, joined a company.
The first question concerns the motivation of people who proceeded to training schools to become nurses or why they became nurses in the first place; second, the background from which their motivation was formed; and third, the types of processes through which these motivations actually led to matriculation in a training school.
