The "Life-History Mandala" workshop had started in 2010 with a goal to understand one's own and others' histories by using the Mandala chart, and later it has developed for the establishment of Kyosei Society. The "Life-History Mandala" chart is composed of inner circle and outer quadrants, and participants are asked to look back on their lives and fill their histories in quadrants and then their life key word (s) in the circle. The workshop has four sections: In the first section, the goal and schedule of the workshop are introduced to participants. In the second section, participants are asked to complete the chart. In the third section, they present their own life histories in small groups. In the last section, all participants share their experience during the small group session. The workshop has been implemented for various populations and places including foreign countries, and most of reflections from participants showed positive aspects of the workshop. Recently, the workshop has been extended by other professionals in other fields, particularly in the field of interpersonal help, because it can be used to understand clients as well as care givers themselves. There seems another possibility to expand the meanings and purpose of the workshop.
