Nietzsche said, "only as an aesthetic phenomenon('aesthetisches Phänomen') the existence and the world is eternally justified (gerechtfertigt)" (GT5). We think, it is one of the most important themes in GT that are not fully described. What is aesthetic phenomenon? It is our problem, especially concerning to 'aesthetic metaphysics'(GT5).
The main reason Nietzsche came to presenting this proposition is Anazximander's moral view of the world, that creation and destruction of the world has an immanent principle of the redemption of injustice (cf.DK12B1). Nietzsche tries to overcome such pessimistic thought, that existence itself is the result of injustice and extinction is atonement of injustice (cf. PHG4). Therfore he introduces, relying on Aeschylus and Heraclitus, the new concept of eternal justice. This justice doesn't function as a measure of value judgment, and it leads us to acceptance of the world as purely aesthetic phenomenon, which is fundamentally free from any value judgment. Also Nietzsche denied the moral view of the world and thoroughly, whose representative is Christianity (cf. VS5)
'Aesthetische Wissenschaft' (GT1), i.e., science of the aesthetic cognition, in this way looks the life itself under the optics of the art as 'Spiel' (cf.GT24: 'künstlerisches Spiel'). Therefore, the aesthetic phenomenon, means the world of 'künstlerisches Phänomen' (artphenomenon) (PHG19) that is justified by the aesthetic metaphysics.
