Abstract |
Point, line and plane in the Painting are most important factors which construct the two-dimensional artistic sphere. But, properly speaking, the things called "point" and "line" do not exist in our empirical world. Therefore, if we should like to deal with this problem, we have firstly to consider about each particular essence. The study of point and line in the painting must be proceeded in parallel with the subject of painter's technique, and there are several doctrines for their school. It is very difficult for us to express and describe the excellent virtue of visual arts by word and letter perfectly, because we have a high regard for the spiritual atmosphere surrounding and resulting in the work of art. Then, I intend to inquire the meaning of rhythm and harmony in the painting for the element communicating that living ether.
