| Abstract |
『細雪』は大阪船場生まれの四姉妹の物語であり、その雰囲気を具体的に表現するものとして、大阪弁での彼女たちの会話を、直接話法、わけても自由直接話法の連鎖の形で表現する手法がとられている。他方、いわばこの舞台前景を支え、小説全体のプロットを統率するとともに、彼女たちの発話の背後にある事情や心理の動きを描くものとして、標準語による語り手のナレーションがある。本稿では、この両者の連関に注目し、特に上巻の「一」から「九」までのテクストを対象として、ヒロイン雪子と姉幸子、その娘悦子の三者の心理と行動の絡まり合いがいかに表現されているかを分析した。
