本研究計画では、「好奇心」のメカニズムについての行動神経科学的な基礎研究を行い、その研究成果をもとに、アートセンターにおける「好奇心」の社会応用に挑む。実験心理学を主軸に据えながらも、行動神経科学・比較認知科学・行動薬理学・分子生物学・計算理論・美術史学・博物館学といった学際的、分野横断的な若手研究者の協働により、「好奇心」とされる認知機能の心理学的・生物学的な機構を明らかにし、その社会応用の可能性を模索した。個々の研究は順調に進んでおり、今後も共同研究を継続していく予定である。
This research project aims to investigate the mechanisms of "curiosity" through foundational studies in behavioral neuroscience and apply these findings to societal contexts, specifically within art centers. While grounded in experimental psychology, the project integrates interdisciplinary collaboration among young researchers from fields such as behavioral neuroscience, comparative cognitive science, behavioral pharmacology, molecular biology, computational theory, art history, and museum studies. Together, we seek to elucidate the psychological and biological mechanisms underlying curiosity as a cognitive function, while exploring its potential applications in society. The individual studies are progressing well, and we plan to continue these collaborative efforts in the future.
