本研究は、中国東北地方おける土地改革と農村経済の関係を検討することを通じて、当該地域社会の連続性・非連続性を明らかにするものである。以下では、①史料整理、②現地調査、③今後の課題の3点に分けて、研究成果実績について説明する。なお、本研究は2021年度の申請課題の続きである。

①史料整理
本研究の主要な史料は、従来の研究でほとんど利用されなかった中国東北地方の地方新聞である。これらの史料には、中国共産党の政策に加えて、個別村落に関する詳細な記事が多く掲載されており、地域に根差した視点から農村社会の状況を検討することができる。申請者は、これまで数年間にわたり、中国国家図書館や各地の地方図書館において関連地方新聞の一部を収集してきた。2023年度はこれらの史料の整理に時間を費やした。

②現地調査
2023年度、申請者は中国国家図書館および各地の地方図書館にて新たな史料調査・収集も行った。また、調査村落を訪問し、農民を対象とした聞き取り調査を実施した。

③今後の課題
次年度以降も地方新聞の整理を継続していく必要がある。それと同時に調査村落を訪問し、インタビューを継続して行う。そして、これらの史料を土台に分析し、その上で不足する文献史料を現地で収集することで、分析の質をさらに高めることが可能になる。したがって、次年度以降は史料整理に合わせて、分析にも力を入れながら研究を進めていきたい。
This research project examines the relationship between land reform and rural economies in Northeast China. It also attempts to clarify the continuities and discontinuities of local society. This short report could be divided into three sections: (1) current work, (2) fieldwork, and (3) future directions. This research is a continuation of the research topic from the FY 2021.

(1) Current work: organizing historical documents.
The primary historical documents for this project are local newspapers from Northeastern China, which were rarely explored in the past. These historical documents, containing numerous information on villages affairs and CCP policy, allow us to study rural society from a community-based perspective. The applicant has collected relevant local newspapers at the National Library of China as well as local libraries in Northeast China for several years. In FY2023, the applicant spent most of time in organizing, cataloguing and categorizing collected articles.

(2) Fieldwork
In FY2023, the applicant conducted new archival research and collection at the National Library of China and local libraries in Northeast China. And then, the applicant also visited the research village and conducted interviews with the farmers.

(3) Future directions
It will be necessary to continue organizing previously gathered local newspapers. Further analysis based on these unique historical materials, combined with the local documents the applicant expected to find in the following fieldwork, will significantly improve our understanding of rural society and modern China. For these reasons, the applicant would want to continue our research in Northeast China and make the most effort in categorizing collected data and started analyzing them.
