本研究は、ハーバード大学イェンチン図書館が所蔵する、清代（1644～1911）に作成された道教関係の写本（二十数冊）を対象とするものである。今年度は3年計画の1年目ということで、関連資料の整理と基礎的な調査を行った。
具体的な内容は以下の通りである。
(1)2022年から2023年にかけてイェンチン図書館で調査した写本について、写真を整理しながら内容を再度確認した。その上で、道教の儀礼書を中心に資料的な価値が高いものを選び、重点的に調査を行うことにした。
(2)明代の『道蔵』や清代の『道蔵輯要』など、前近代の道教文献の叢書に収録されている資料と、上記の選定した資料との関連性を調査した。
(3)さらに、近年の現地調査によって収集された道教儀礼書の影印本（李豊楙編『道法海涵』など）に、上記の選定した資料と類似する文献がないか調査を行った。
(4) 2023年5月7日にジュネーブ大学で行われた国際学会"Comparing Chinese, Korean, and Japanese Religions"において、"Worship of the Ox Lord in Premodern Southern China"と題して研究発表を行った（オンライン参加）。
(5)イェンチン図書館の司書である馬小鶴氏と協力して、市場に出ていた本研究に関連する清代の道教と民間信仰の写本を20冊ほど選定し、それらをイェンチン図書館に新たに購入していただいた。これにより、本研究に関する資料を増補し、次年度以降に調査対象を拡大することが可能になった。
なお、本年度中に論考を発表すべく準備を進めていたが、上記のイェンチン図書館が購入した新たな資料の中に、論文のテーマとなる写本と関連するものがあった。そのため、より包括的な成果を発表することを企図して、新資料の調査を行ったあとで論文の内容を再検討することにした。
This study focuses on Daoist manuscripts copied in Qing China (1644-1911) in the collection of the Harvard Yenching Library. As this was the first year of a three-year project, I conducted basic philological research on these manuscripts. The details are as follows.
(1) Detailed research on the contents of the Daoist manuscripts researched in the Harvard Yenching Library from 2022 to 2023, while organizing the photos of them. And I selected some Daoist liturgical manuals that have high study value.
(2) Research on the relationship between the selected materials and Daoist liturgical manuals contained in pre-modern Daoist collections such as "Dao Zang" in Ming China and "Daozang Jiyao" in Qing China.
(3) Research on the similarity between the selected materials and Daoist manuscripts collected through recent field research.
(4) Presented a paper entitled "Worship of the Ox Lord in Pre-modern Southern China" at the international conference "Comparing Chinese, Korean, and Japanese Religions" held at the University of Geneva on May 7, 2023.
(5) In consultation with Mr. Ma Xiaohe, librarian of the Harvard Yenching Library, I selected about 20 manuscripts relevant to this study from the catalogs of several used bookstores in China. The Harvard Yenching Library then purchased these manuscripts. This allowed us to expand the scope of our research in the following years and beyond.
