富山県高岡市に所在する古墳時代の遺跡、頭川城ヶ平横穴墓群より出土した大量の保存良好な人骨資料について、基礎的な整理作業を実施した。本年度は、骨の修復と同定をさらに進め、同定結果等のリスト化を実施した。まず、骨を修復してできるかぎり完形に近づけることで、骨片の状態では判断できなかった部位や点数を明らかにすることが可能となり、出土資料をより正確に把握することができた。加えて、骨が完形に近づいたことで、頭蓋骨や四肢骨等の計測を行えるようになったため、この先さらなる自然人類学的分析が進んでいくことが期待される。また、修復した資料も含めた骨の同定により、被葬者の個体数や年齢を明らかにすることができた。さらに、これらの情報を横穴ごとに集計し、リストを作成した。まだ途中ではあるが、横穴ごとの被葬者の個体数と年齢構成が明らかになりつつある。また、リストの作成により、各箱の内容をすぐに確認できるようになったため、資料の活用時に有効である。今後も引き続きリスト化作業を進めていく必要がある。
A large amount of well-preserved human remains excavated from the Kofun Period site, Zugawa-Jogahira Yokoana Tombs, located in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, were subjected to basic sorting work. This year, we further restored and identified the bones, and compiled a list of the identification results. First, by restoring the bones to as close to their original form as possible, we were able to clarify parts that could not be determined in the condition of the bone fragments, and to count the number of each part, in order to more accurately understand the excavated materials. By restoring the bones to more complete condition, it becomes possible to measure the skull and limb bones, which is necessary to further advance anthropological analysis in the future. In addition, the identification of the bones, including those of the restored material, has allowed us to determine the number and age of the individuals buried at the site. In the newly prepared list, such information was compiled for each burial pit. Although still in progress, the number of individuals and age structure of each burial site is becoming clearer. The list is also very convenient when checking the contents of each box, which will be useful when utilizing the material. It is necessary to continue the listing process in the future.
