本研究の目的は、フランス16世紀の文芸における造形描写の機能と役割を明らかにすることにある。本年度は、印刷技術の普及した時代における建築と描写技巧に関する資料収集およびテキスト分析と、建築描写をテーマにした学会開催を行った。
テキスト分析に関しては、16世紀前半に出版された建築理論書における技術と知識の先鋭化と俗化の問題を調査し、それらの文学作品への影響を探った。それと並行して、建築史分野における架空物の取り扱いの調査、装飾芸術の位置付けの調査、文学コーパスにおける関連語彙の収集とデータ化、およびimaginationや心的イメージに関する当時の概念と修辞学的実践の様態をまとめるための資料収集を行った。次年度は分析を続け、論文の形で発表する予定である。
また本年度11月に、ソルボンヌ大学において、同大学アンヌ＝パスカル・プエイ＝ムヌ教授とともに国際学会『L'ekphrasis architecturale dans la littérature du XVIe siècle en France』を主催することができた。本学会には、日本・フランスの研究者に加え、イギリス、アメリカ、イタリアからの登壇者があり、ekphrasis、指示機能、言語と文体、ジャンル、翻訳、社会・宗教・政治的背景、といった本テーマの根幹に関わる要素について、さまざまな議論が行われた。本分野の研究を推進するにあたって研究者との交流の基盤を築くことができた。本学会で得られた結果は、次年度中に論文の形でまとめ論集を出版する予定である。
The aim of this study is to shed light on the function and role of descriptions of the plastic arts in sixteenth-century French literature. This year, on the one hand, we consulted and collated documents on the technique of description and architecture at the time of printing, before analysing them. On the other, we organised a colloquium on the theme of architectural ekphrasis. With regard to textual analysis, we have studied the issues of radicalisation and popularisation of technology and knowledge of architecture by tracking the publication of theory texts in the first half of the sixteenth century, and exploring their influence on literary works. At the same time, we have collected material to understand the state of rhetorical concepts and practices at the time concerning the imagination and the mental image. The analysis will continue next year and will be published in the form of an article.
In November 2023 at Sorbonne University, we were also able to organize the international colloquium ' L'ekphrasis architecturale dans la littérature du XVIe siècle en France' with Professor Anne-Pascale Pouey-Mounou from the same university. Speakers from the United Kingdom, the United States and Italy, as well as French and Japanese researchers, discussed a series of fundamental elements to the theme: ekphrasis, referentiality, languages and styles, genres, translations, and social, religious and political contexts. The results of the colloquium will be published in the form of articles and collected in a volume next year.
