本研究は、女性の伝統的な手仕事の伝承と女性に対する教育活動の普及を両輪として「女性の自立」を目的として1871年に設立されたオランダ初の女性協会、Albeid Adelt（現在のTesselshade Albeid Adeltの前身）の活動とこの組織の創設者であるBetsy Parkの思想と活動について明らかにしようとするものである。本年は、Besty Parkの著作、Besty Parkに関する研究、同協会の発行した刊行物に関する調査、収集、分析を行った。その結果、同協会はオランダ各地域において女性を組織化し、王室の支援も得て女性の経済的自立を目指した工芸品の販売、女性の教育活動へのアクセス拡大などを様々な活動を展開した。経済的に恵まれない女性の教育の支援を目的とした活動を展開していたTesslshade協会は、1948年にAlbeid Adlet協会と合併し、女性の経済的自立、教育の普及、伝統工芸技術の伝承に根差した活動を展開したことが明らかとなった。その一方、オランダでは1956年に至るまで女性（特に既婚女性）の経済活動への参加が著しく規制され、女性個人の銀行口座の保持が法的に認められないなど、社会制度上の制約が長期間にわたり存在したことが明らかになった。同協会の活動が女性のみならず社会に与えたインパクトはどのように評価されるべきかを検討することが今後の課題として示された。
This research explores the thoughts and educational activities of Betsy Park, who established the first women's association in the Netherlands in 1871. The first women's association, Arbeid Adlet, is known as one of the origins of Tesselschade-Arbeid Adlet established to promote women's independence based on the activities of transcending traditional Dutch needlework and diffusion of women's education. This year, an analysis of Park's writings, articles on Park's activities, magazines, and books published by Arbeid Adlet and Tesselschade-Arbeid Adlet was conducted. Supported by one of the member of the royal family, Arbeid Adlet successfully organized women in the Netherlands and conducted various activities, such as selling traditional arts products to support women's financial independence and encouraging them to attend university lectures for improving educational opportunities. Another women's association, Tesselschade, was established for humble women to secure their educational opportunities, united with Arbeid Adelt in 1948. Since then, Tesselschade-Arbeid Adelt has developed variours activities, such as encouraging women's financial independence, transcending Dutch traditional needlework, and the diffusion of women's education.
However, it was also demonstrated that Dutch women's engagement in financial activities were strictly prohibited by law until 1956. Therefore, the evaluation of this women's association's impact on Dutch women and society should be explored in future research.
