北ドイツ（ブレーメンやハンブルク）の新教育運動に関心を寄せる学外の研究者（神戸大学教授渡邊隆信、文部科学省教科書調査官小林万里子、日本大学芸術学部助教鈴木優）と研究会を２回もち、研究発表を行った。個人としては、ベルリンのBBF（教育史研究図書館）とハンブルク大学大学史図書館所蔵の史料を中心に、ハンブルク・リヒトヴァルク校の何人かの教師たち（ゲオルク・イェーガー、ハインリヒ・ランダール、ヘルマン・シュット、エーリヒ・イェーニッシュ、エルナ・シュタール、フリッツ・ノイマン）の知的バックグラウンドを調べた。まだその研究成果は出ていないが、北ドイツの新教育運動の背景には、ある種の社会主義（ギルド社会主義など）を背景に「新しい人文主義」を根付かせようとする動きがあり、それがリヒトヴァルク校の文化芸術活動の背景にあったことがわかった。また、ノイマンの貴重な資料（回想録）がアメリカのスタンフォード大学フーヴァー研究所図書館・史料館にあることがわかったので、それを取り寄せ中である。この史料を読み解くことで、なぜこの学校の教師や生徒たちが反ナチ的傾向を帯びていたのかがわかってくるだろう。来年度の課題である。
I held two research meetings and presented my research with researchers outside the university (Professor Takanobu Watanabe of Kobe University, Mariko Kobayashi, Textbook Investigator of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and Yu Suzuki, Assistant Professor of Nihon University College of Art) who were interested in the new education movement in northern Germany (Bremen and Hamburg). As an individual, I have been working on the intellectual background of several teachers at the Hamburg-Lichtwark School (Georg Jäger, Heinrich Landhal, Hermann Schütt, Erich Jenisch, Erna Stahl, and Fritz Neumann), focusing on the archives of the BBF (Library for the History of Education) in Berlin and the Library of History of University at Hamburg) were examined for their intellectual backgrounds. Although the results of this research have not yet been published, I found that the new education movement in Northern Germany was rooted in an attempt to root a "new humanism" in a certain type of socialism (such as guild socialism), which was the background for the cultural and artistic activities at the Lichtwark School. In addition, we have learned that Neumann's valuable materials (memoirs) are in the Hoover Institution Library and Archives, Stanford University, USA, and we are in the process of ordering them. By reading these documents, we will be able to understand why the teachers and students of this school had anti-Nazi tendencies. This will be the subject of next year's project.
