本研究は1.日本における新宗教教団の信者の宗教性、特に身体意識的宗教性と幸福感との関係性を、量的研究および質的研究の双方を活用することによって、宗教社会学的に明らかにすることを通して、2.宗教社会学(宗教研究)における身体(身体性)をテーマとした新しい研究領域を拓くこと、3.宗教研究においてはほとんど実施されてこなかった混合研究法の可能性を探究すること、4.宗教的身体実践が主観的幸福感を醸成するのか否かに関する実践的な知見を獲得することを目的とした。 初年度の量的研究で明らかになった、身体意識的宗教性の、力の働き、自他一体感、身体変容感覚、神秘体験、フロー体験、対外的操作力、分身感覚、呼吸への気づき、集中状態という主たる因子をもとに、本年度は質的研究にアプローチしようとした。質問紙の自由回答のテキストマイニングの結果は上記因子の存在を指示している。これらに基づいて、まず、天理教、大本、創価学会、立正佼成会、世界救世教、および真如苑の六教団の信者への、身体意識的宗教性を探るための質問項目を作成することを、事前の聞き取りも通して試みた。リサーチクエスチョンとして、「当該宗教信者の信仰深化のプロセスに着目して、身体意識的宗教性がどのように生成して遷移するのか」という問いを立てたうえで、以下の質問項目を作成した。すなわち、1.実践している諸活動、2.信仰の深まりを感じたき、3.そのそれぞれの時点で、信仰の深まりを感じたときに生じた身心の変化の気づき、4.特に身体に関する感覚の変化の気づき、5.その後の実践への取り組み方の変化、6.その後の自分の信仰の点検・自己評価（自覚）の六点である。六教団を対象としたことによる分析の長期化により、本年度の研究の成果は、質問項目の作成に留まったが、今後のインタビューの実施の基礎を確立できた。質的分析ソフトが入手可能になった後その後の分析を遂行することが今後の課題である。
This study aims 1. To clarify the relationship between religiosity, especially body-conscious religiosity, and happiness among the followers of new religious orders in Japan from a sociological perspective by utilizing both quantitative and qualitative research, 2. To open up a new research field in the sociology of religion (the study of religion) on the theme of the body (corporeality), 3. To explore the potential of mixed research methods, which have rarely been used in the study of religion, 4. To gain practical knowledge on whether or not religious physical practice fosters subjective well-being. Based on the main factors of body-conscious religiosity identified in the first year's quantitative research, namely, workings of power, sense of oneness with self and others, sense of bodily transformation, mystical experience, flow experience, external manipulative power, sense of alterity, awareness of breathing, and state of concentration, we attempted to approach qualitative research in this year. The results of the text mining of the open-ended responses of the questionnaire dictate the existence of the above factors. Based on these factors, we first attempted to develop a questionnaire to explore body-conscious religiosity among followers of the six religious orders of Tenrikyo, Omoto, Soka -Gakkai, Rissho-Kosei-kai, Sekai-Kyusei-kyo, and Shinnyoen, through preliminary interviews.
The following questions were developed based on the research question, "How does body-conscious religiosity emerge and transition in the process of faith development of the religious believers in question? Namely, 1. Various activities being practiced, 2. When they felt their faith deepening, 3.at each point in time, the awareness of physical and mental changes that occurred when they felt a deepening of their faith, 4. Noticing changes in the senses, especially with regard to the body, 5. Subsequent changes in the way you approach your practice, 6. Subsequent inspection and self-evaluation (self-awareness) of one's faith. Due to the lengthy analysis period resulting from the fact that the study covered six denominations, the results of this year's research were limited to the development of questionnaire items, but it did establish a foundation for future interviews. The future task is to carry out subsequent analyses after qualitative analysis software becomes available.
