COVID-19 の世界的な流行により国際間の移動や海外での滞在による研究の機会が大きく制限される中、2020年から2021年にかけての「塾派遣留学」によりドイツ連邦共和国で研究生活を送った。そこで、その滞在経験について、その成果を共有するための研究を企画した。環境とリスクにかかわる社会心理学の研究者として、この状況での滞在経験をコロナ禍のドイツでの行動規制にもとづいた人々の行動を、滞在中のフィールドワークとしての参与観察、および収集した資料の整理、翻訳等を行った。そして、ドイツでのサステナブルな社会に関連する消費、環境、健康といった側面に着目し、そのリスクへの対処行動について、日本の行動と比較しながら分析した。特にCOVID-19の対処としての行動の制約について、ドイツと日本との社会システムの違いによる人々の行動とその規定因を考察し、ドイツにおけるルールにもとづいた行動の特徴を明らかにした。中でもマスク着用行動に関しては、ドイツ人は社会による規制としての罰則によって行動が求められる場合にのみ着用するのに対して、日本では社会的規範による行動変容が個人的規範を変化させ、行動が求められない場面での着用することに関して詳細に考察した。ドイツの複数の大学で実施した気候変動問題に関するゲーミングの実施に関しては、その結果を分析し、新たなゲーミングの開発として展開させた。さらに、留学から帰国した後の2021年10月以降のドイツの状況についても調査を行なった。人々の行動に対する社会規範の影響、政策としてのルールの設定とその受容との関係、個々の考え方にもとづく社会の分断と包摂について、ゲーミング・シミュレーション研究として位置づけた。以上の成果の一部を全90ページの報告書としてまとめ、慶應義塾の内外に発信を行なった。また本研究の成果を本学の学部・大学院の教育の教材として活用できるようにした。
While the global epidemic of COVID-19 has severely restricted research opportunities through international travel and stays abroad, I spent my research life in the Federal Republic of Germany as a Keio-university-sponsored study abroad program from 2020 to 2021. Therefore, we planned a study to share the results of that residency experience. As a researcher of social psychology related to the environment and risk, I used my stay experience in this situation as fieldwork during my stay to observe people's behavior based on the behavioral regulations in Germany during the Corona Disaster, as well as to organize and translate the collected materials. Then, focusing on the aspects of consumption, environment, and health related to a sustainable society in Germany, we analyzed their behavior in coping with the risks, comparing it with the behavior in Japan. Regarding the restrictions on behavior as a response to COVID-19, we examined people's behavior and its determinants due to the differences in social systems between Germany and Japan. We clarified the characteristics of rule-based behavior in Germany. In particular, the study examined the behavior of people wearing masks in Japan.
In contrast, Germans only wear masks when they are required to do so by penalties imposed by society, and the behavior of people wearing masks in Japan when they are not required to do so by social norms changes their personal norms. The results of the climate change gaming conducted at several German universities were analyzed and used to develop a new type of gaming. Furthermore, after returning from our study abroad program, we investigated the situation in Germany after October 2021. The influence of social norms on people's behavior, the relationship between the establishment of rules as policies and their acceptance, and the division and inclusion of society based on individual ideas were positioned as a gaming simulation study. Some of the above results were compiled into a 90-page report and disseminated inside and outside Keio University. We also made the results of this research available as educational materials for undergraduate and graduate education at Keio University. Keio University.
