フレーム知識（話者の持つ、言葉の背景知識）を介して、日本語の構文と、英語・ドイツ語・スウェーデン語・ポルトガル語などの日本語と言語類型論的に異なる言語の構文とを対応付けるための手法「フレーム・構文分析」を確立した。「フレーム・構文分析」は、文の主動詞が喚起するフレームに着目し、文の構造・意味・機能を分析する手法である。この手法を用いることにより、構造は異なるが同じ意味や機能を持つ多言語の構文同士を対応付けることができる。最終年度である2022年度には「フレーム・構文分析」の具体的な手順を明確化した。さらに、構文の「意味」と「機能」の違いを明らかにし、構文の「機能」の種類を具体的に列挙できた。
上記の成果について、Frames, functions, and constructional meanings: Aligning constructions across typologically distinct languagesという論文を執筆した（Ohara, K., To Appear in Ziem, A., Willich, A., & Michel, S. (Eds.) Constructing Constructicons）。ノルウェー北極大学（トロムソ大学）博士課程科目"Constructicography: Advanced Topics in Construction Grammar"で客員教員として授業を行った。さらに、2023年5月に開催される第12回国際構文文法学会にて"Can frames describe meanings of grammatical constructions?"という演題で研究発表を行う予定である。
今後は、「フレーム・構文分析」の手法を用いて、同じ意味や機能を持つ多言語の構文同士を対応付け、外国語学習や翻訳支援に有益なリソースの構築を目指したい。
I was able to establish a method of aligning grammatical constructions across typologically distinct languages, which I call "Frames-and-Constructions Analysis." This is a method to describe and compare meanings and structures of sentences in multiple languages. By using parallel corpora and by paying attention to frames that linguistic expressions in the languages evoke, the method enables analysts to compare constructions across languages in terms of their structural, semantic, and functional properties. Achievements in Academic Year 2022-2023 include the following: Establishment of each step of Frames-and-Constructions Analysis; Distinguishing between semantics and functions of grammatical constructions; List concrete examples of functions of grammatical constructions.
The achievements above were presented in a guest lecture at a PhD Course "Constructicography: Advanced Topics in Constrution Grammar" in UiT The Artic University of Norway and will be presented at ICCG12 (The 12th International Conference on Construction Grammar) in May, 2023, as well as in: Ohara, K. Frames, functions, and constructional meanings: Aligning constructions across typologically distinct languages, which will appear in Ziem, A., Willich, A., & Michel, S. (Eds.) Constructing Constructicons.
