1.The study of renga by Fukui Kyuzo was re-examined. Some copies of the manuscripts of the Tsukubashu used in the" Kohon Tsukubsashu Shinshaku" were purchased. Of these, the most important is the manuscript in the Gakushuin University Library (formerly owned by the Saka family, late Edo period copy, four volumes), which Fukui adopted as the source material. In purple handwriting, the Satomura Shōitsu collection copy is dated late July 1798, the Ishikawa Shūryō collection copy is dated April 1798 in red ink, and the Hitotsubashi Harunai collection copy is dated September 1818 in blue ink. The text of the particularly important Satomura Shoitsu collection is written in purple and is illegible without a colour image, but it was worthwhile to be able to purchase it with the funds available. The result of this research was the emergence of the fact that the text of the "Kohon Tsukubsashu Shinshaku" and the Asahi Koten Zensho edition of "Tsukubashu", which are said to be based on the Gakushuin version and to have been collated in other versions, were not written in the Gakushuin version, and were not rejected, but the text was collated, which is highly problematic for their use as a school text.
2. The works of Atsuo Masamune were studied. In particular, essays on bibliography and archaeology from his later years were unearthed. The essays, "Honami Dayori" and "Fugura ni kokomorite", were serialised in the Konko Library's library bulletin "Tsu-chi", and provide a simple explanation of the books collected by Atsuo, specifically the works of the Keien School poets, Okayama Clan Confucian scholars and other local scholars and poets. It is unique as a study and should still be referred to first and foremost even today. It was written in 41 editions until shortly before his death. This time, with the permission of the Masamune family and the Konko's Library, we were able to reprint these 41 editions, which are now rare, and publish them in the Research Report No. 43. The text of the essays has been revised and, where necessary, abbreviated notes have been added. In addition, an index of titles and names of people and books has been compiled to facilitate the reintroduction of Masamune Atsuo's achievements as a scholar and to make them widely available to the public.
