この研究の目的は、外国語能力と異文化理解を同時に育成するための教材および授業構築について考察であるが、今年度はコロナ禍によって、オンラインでの授業実践で行うことになった。その中で、オンラインでは、異文化理解に必要な批判能力が、学習者同士の意見交換が円滑に行えることでより活発化することがわかった。グーグルドライブなどを用いることのより、教材の即時更新、グループワークの成果の共有が可視化され、それによって、お互いの意見、ディスカッションの成果などがよりよく把握でき、それぞれのレクレクションが促された。レクレクションによる他者理解こそが、異文化理解の骨子であり、オンラインは、そうした共同の学びを促す装置として働くことがわかった。また動画やHPなどオーセンティックな教材の一部分を明示的に示し、教員と学生の間で共有したりなど、コンピュータの画面を黒板とすることで、より効率的な教材提示が可能になってことも指摘しておきたい。
The purpose of this study was to examine the construction of teaching materials and classes for simultaneously developing foreign language skills and intercultural understanding. In the course of the study, it was found that the critical skills necessary for cross-cultural understanding were enhanced in online classes by facilitating the exchange of opinions among the learners. The use of Google Drive, for example, enabled the immediate updating of teaching materials and the sharing of the results of group work, which in turn enabled a better understanding of each other's opinions and the results of discussions, and encouraged reflection. Understanding others through reflection is the essence of cross-cultural understanding, and the online system was found to work as a device to promote such collaborative learning. I would also like to point out that using the computer screen as a blackboard has enabled more efficient presentation of educational materials, such as explicitly showing parts of authentic materials such as videos and websites and sharing them between teachers and students.
