本研究は地域に暮らす百寿者に対し、日常生活を通しての自立に関する体験を探究することを目的とした。身体機能、認知機能が低下する百寿者にとっての自立、自由性を理解することは、百寿者を理解するうえで重要な知見を与え、真のニーズに適した介護や医療の開発の促進に貢献するといえる。
今年度（2年計画の1年目）は、地域在住の百寿者に対する質的研究を計画し、本学部研究倫理委員会の審査を受け、承認を得た。
2019年10月より、合目的的サンプリングによってリクルートを開始し、共同研究者が研究参加候補者6名の家族に電話で調査を依頼した。6名の家族より内諾を得たが、後日2名は体調を理由に中止となった。
今年度は百寿者4名（104歳－111歳, 女性）の自宅（1名）もしくは施設（3名）に訪問し、百寿者と家族の同意を得てインタビューを実施した。
データ収集は、半構造化インタビューガイドを用いて、どのような生活を送っているのか、日々の暮らしでうれしいこと、心配していること、考えていることなどについてオープンクエスションで尋ね、語られた内容はICレコーダーに録音した。なお、2名の百寿者は高度～重度難聴のため筆談で尋ねた。
データ分析はThematic analysisを用いた。中間分析の結果、4名の語りからは「今晩のこともわからない命」「明日は考えず今を生きている」「欲は一切無く全てに感謝」という内容が語られた。さらに、身体活動や認知力が低下していても、自分の意思でやりたいこと（俳句を詠む、塗り絵など）や居場所を選び、楽しさを感じていることも語られた。
百寿者の対象者は限られており、2020年度もリクルート、データ収集、分析を継続、推進していく予定である。
This study aimed to explore self-reliance in the daily life experiences of community-dwelling centenarians. Understanding the reality of independence and freedom for centenarians with impaired physical and cognitive function can provide important knowledge for understanding centenarians and contribute to the development of nursing and medical care centenarians' true needs.
A qualitative study was conducted this year to investigate the situation of centenarians living in the community. This study was approved by the internal review board of our university.
We used purposive sampling based on the inclusion criteria in the present study.
This year, four centenarians (104-111 years old, women) were interviewed after obtaining their consent and the consent of their families. One of the centenarians was interviewed in her home while three others were interviewed in nursing care home.
A semi-structured interview guide with open-ended questions was used to collect data from the centenarians about the kind of life they have, what makes them happy in their daily lives, what they are worried about, and other things they think about. The content of the interview was recorded on an integrated circuit (IC) recorder.
Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. The results of tentative analysis extracted from the narratives of the four centenarians are: "Do not even know what will happen this evening in my life," "Living in the present and not thinking about tomorrow," and "No want and am thankful for everything." They also stated that although their physical activity and cognitive ability were declining, they were still able to choose what they wanted to do (composing haiku, coloring, etc.), where they wanted to be, and felt that their lives were enjoyable.
Only a limited number of centenarians were interviewed in this study, but we plan to continue to promote the recruitment, data collection, and analysis in FY2020.
