実写映画やアニメーション等の映像作品が、日本から中国へ、中国から日本へ、どのように輸出され、どのように輸入されているのか。また日本と中国の共同製作はどのように行われているのか。こうした問題は、機密性の高いビジネスの現場と密接に結びついていることもあり、外部からはなかなか窺い知ることができず、学術的な研究が進んでいたとは言いがたい。しかしその実態を解明し、分析を行うことによって、文化研究や産業研究の領域で重要な知見を得られるだけでなく、文化産業の分野における産学連携を促進させ、さらに今後の日中関係について実態に即した提言を行うことができるものとなる。
そうした視点に立って、本研究では以下2点の調査・解明を行うことを目標として設定した。
（1）日本の映像作品の中国展開、および中国の映像作品の日本展開は、どのような内容の作品が、誰によって、どのようなプロセスで行われているのか。
（2）そうしたプロセスは、どのような制度・技術・市場のもとで展開されているのか。
上記の調査・解明のために、具体的に行った研究方法は以下の通りである。
（1）当該分野に関わる様々な方々との意見交換やインタビュー。本来は日本国内だけでなく中国でも調査を行う予定であったが、新型コロナウイルスの影響で渡航規制が行われたため、一部の方については電話やメールなどでの実施となった。対象となった方の所属先としては、中国電影資料館、上海戯劇学院、SOAS、Arch社、ムーラン・プロモーション、アクセスブライト社などが挙げられる。
（2）関連資料の収集と分析。映像作品のDVDを購入して検討した他、インタビューで言及された関連資料や先行研究を収集して分析を行った。
研究を通して得られた知見については、慶應義塾大学で行ったシンポジウムと、研究代表者と分担者による複数の論文として発表を行った。
How are visual works such as live-action movies and animations exported and imported from Japan to China and vice versa? How is co-production between Japan and China proceeding? Since these topics are closely related to highly confidential business activities, the situation is difficult to clarify from the outside and progress in related academic research is sparse. However, by analyzing and clarifying the actual situation, it is not only possible to obtain important knowledge on the fields of cultural and industrial research, it is also possible to promote industry-academia collaboration in these cultural industries and make proposals, grounded in current realities, for the future of the Japan-China relationship.
From the above points of view, the purpose of this research was to investigate and analyze the following two points:
(1)What kind of people, organizations, content and processes are involved in the production and distribution of Japanese video works in China and vice versa?
(2)Under what kind of systems, technologies, and markets, are the above processes being developed?
The specific research methods employed for the above investigation and analysis are as follows:
(1)Interviews with related parties
Although the original research plans included in-person interviews in China as well as Japan, some interviews were conducted by phone or email due to the restrictions on travel implemented following the spread of the new coronavirus.
(2)Collection and analysis of related materials
In addition to purchasing and analyzing DVDs of video works, we collected and analyzed the related materials and literature mentioned during the interviews.
The findings obtained through this research project were presented through a symposium at Keio University and in several papers authored by the research director and co-investigator.
