日本企業においてマネジメント・コントロールという言葉自体は浸透しているとは言い切れないものの，実態としてそれが意味する仕組み自体は様々な形で導入されていることがわかっている。それでは，こうしたマネジメント・コントロールの設計は実際に企業内のどの部門が行っているのか，またどのような関係性を他の部門とともに気付きつつ構築しているのかという点について，研究レビューを行い，質問票による実態調査を行った。
調査にあたって送付先データベースは，東京証券取引所一部上場企業における経営企画部門を対象とし，プロネクサス社の提供する企業情報データベースeolを参照し，経営企画部門（あるいはそれに準ずる部門）の責任者の方を対象として作成した。質問票の内容は，経営企画部門の活動，および経営管理の仕組みについての既存研究を活用するとともに，実態を把握する項目を主たるものし，そのほかマネジメント・コントロールにかかわる項目を加えている。2019年11月現在の対象企業2012社に送付し，後日改めて葉書で再依頼をした結果，2019年12月末までに回答した企業は307社であった。なお，本調査は科学研究費基盤研究（B）19H01551との共同実施調査である。
調査結果については，記述統計を報告書としてまとめ，回答企業に送付した。今後は，本調査結果の公表とともに，論文作成，学会報告などを予定している。
Although a concept called the management control systems have not been penetrated in the Japanese companies, as for structure itself, they use various sub-systems as the actual situation. Then, we wonder that who design the subsystems in Japanese companies. We reviewed articles which research about the sections of the management planning sections in the company. After that we designed the questioners that reveal the actually such management control. The destination database intended for the Corporate Planning & Coordination Department gate in the part of Tokyo Stock Exchange listed company in an investigation and, with reference to company information database "eol" which PRONEXUS Corporation provided, We intended toward the person in charge of the Corporate Planning & Coordination Department gate (the section which or follows it) and made it. One of the main point of the investigation is to grasp the actual situation about the structure of the activity of the Corporate Planning & Coordination Department gate and the management, and the contents of the question with the others management control. We sent it to 2,012 target companies as of November, 2019, and as a result of having asked by a postcard again later, the company which replied by the end of December, 2019 was 307. In addition, this investigation is a joint enforcement investigation with scientific research funds base study (B) 19H01551.
About the findings, We summarized descriptive statistics and sent to the company which hoped for in answer companies. We have plans to write articles as soon.
