防災・減災におけるグリーンインフラの経済学的特徴付を行った。グリーンインフラは、いわゆるグレーインフラと比して、設置費用が低く、かつ環境効果が大きいという長所を持つ。しかし、一方で、防災機能が不確実であるという短所を抱えている。このような理解において、グリーンインフラでの防災を行うことの費用と便益を経済学的に定式化し、どのようなケースにおいてグリーンインフラを使用すべきかを明確にした。また、日本において実際の便益評価を行う際に、どのような手法を用いるかについてまとめた。この研究は、「グリーンインフラの経済学」として細田・大沼（2019)の一つの章として公刊している。
一方、イギリスにおけるEco-DRRの展開についても調査を行った。イギリス森林研究所を訪問し、イギリスの政策展開の聞き取りと資料収集を行った。さらに、同研究所で日本の防災インフラの特徴を報告した。こうした内容は、九州産業大学で開催された報告会で発表した。
The economics of green infrastructure in disaster risk reduction (DRR) is characterized. Green infrastructures have advantages over so-called grey infrastructures in that they are less expensive to install and have greater environmental benefits. On the other hand, they have the disadvantage of uncertainty concerning disaster prevention function. With this understanding, the costs and benefits of using green infrastructure for DRR are formulated in economic terms, and the cases in which green infrastructure should be used are clarified. The study also summarises the methodology to be used in Japan to evaluate the actual benefits. This study has been published as a chapter in Hosoda and Onuma (2019) as "The Economics of Green Infrastructure".
On the other hand, we also conducted research on the development of Eco-DRR in the UK by visiting Forest Research UK and Pickering. Furthermore, some features of DRR in Japan was reported in the institute. These contents were presented at a seminar held at Kyushu Sangyo University.
