2018年度は、2017年度に引き続き、出土遺構の平面図、断面図及び土器片の実測図のトレース作業、写真撮影を中心に行い、これらはほぼ完成の段階にきている。また、調査時に出土した炭化物の年代測定もほぼ完了した。
遺構の全体図は、建築層ごとの遺跡の構造を考える基礎となる。また、土器片は出土遺物の中核的なものであり、遺構の年代、性格を考える上で重要である。今後は、まだ図版として仕上がっていない石材、石製品、金属製品、土製品、ガラス製品のトレース作業に取り組むこととなる。
これらの調査結果の一部はすでにまとめられ、下記のように国内外さまざまな学会や学術雑誌『史学』において公表してきている。特に重要なものは、ビザンツ時代の教会堂、十字軍時代の農業集落、ネクロポリスである。これらの研究は、まず今夏に英文の初期報告書で報告され、その後英文全2巻の最終報告書で公表されることとなっている。現在作成中の図版も、それらの基礎となるものである。
In 2018, we continued to trace the drawings of the plans and sections of architectural remains and pottery sherds for publication. C14 analyses were also conducted.
The drawings of the structures will be the foundations for interpreting the nature of the site for each stratum. Pottery sherds are the nucleus among the unearthed artifacts. In 2019, we still need to work on stone building blocks, stone tools, clay tools, metal tools, glass objects, and animal bones.
Parts of the data are already examined and interim reports are presented in scholarly meetings and published on journals. Particular focus is placed upon the Byzantine church, agricultural settlement of the Crusader period, and necropolis. We will finish the English preliminary report on the whole site in the summer 2019, and then plan to publish two volume final report in English. The figures now preparing will be the bases for these reports.
