2015年より開始された国連の「持続可能な開発目標(Sustainable Development Goals)]の運動はここ数年、日本で大きな関心事となってきた。特に日本企業においてはこの目標をCSR活動の中心に据えていこうという機運が高まってきた。こうした現象はこれまでのISO26000,GRIなどの世界的標準化の動きとは異なった理念からの運動であり、技術的に細かな基準や認証といった形式的要件を強調する日本企業のCSR活動とは趣旨を異にするものであって、あまりアピールしないのではないかという懸念が持たれていた。
ところが、ここ数年日本企業はこぞってSDGsを受け入れて、それなりの成果を出しつつある。
こうした現象の背後にはどのような理由があるのかを、様々な企業へのインタビューを行うことで調査した。
また、日本経営倫理学会の協力を得て、いくつかのシンポジウムも開催して実態の解明を進めた。
その結果は途中段階ではあるが、国連のもつ知名度と影響力、また日本政府のコミットメントなどが大きな要素であった。１７の目標について、また15年間という達成へのタイムスパンについては一部になお違和感が残っているということも判明した。
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) started in 2015, after the MDGs program. In Japan it has gained a quite large public attention recently, especially among the private business sector, which consider SGDs as the core program of their CSR programs.
There were several similar CSR frameworks, such as ISO26000 or GRI etc., SDGs was the pratform where emphasies located on the overall goals that entire world should try to attain by the year 2030. Unlike other schemes, which has more technical and specific conditions for certification or accreditation, SDGs seems to lack clear benefit from Japanese corporate perspective.
However, contrary to these concern, Japanese corporations were eagerly tackled the challenge of SDGs and caused considerable results.
In this studies try to figure out how and why SDGs appealed Japanese CSR program through the series of interview research of several Japanese corporations.
Although this is a tentative result, it is clear that Japanese take this program seriously, because it is backed up by the UN, and also Japanese government recognition of the program.
