本研究は政治報道における「戦略型フレーム」の増加が人々の政治不信を強めることを明らかにしようと試みた。戦略型フレームとは、政治家個人の利害や選挙対策に焦点を当てたシニカルな報道傾向である。分析の結果、政治報道の焦点は、一般政策や政治的争点から個人の政治家に移っており、戦略型フレームの増加が人々の政治不信の増大をもたらしている可能性が示唆された。 This paper aims to analyze the increasing use of strategic news frame in political news coverage. The "strategic news frame" refers to the cynical trend in news reports focusing on the personal interest of politicians and their campaign strategies rather than the policy of their parties. By applying the tools of content analysis - focus, tone, and content - the increase in the strategic frame of political news coverage by the Asahi Shimbun and the Yomiuri Shimbun is analyzed. The result of the analysis was that from 1980 to 2000 the focus in political news coverage shifted from general policies and agenda to the politicians and an increasing trend in strategic news frames could be noted. These two characteristics are seen as the cause of the raise in political cynicism of the general public in Japan.
