生物多様性保全で規制の強さを緩め利用を促す動きが起きている。特に生物多様性保全の枠組みには, 持続的利用を打ち出す生物多様性条約の影響力が高まっている中で, 利用のあり方を考察することはきわめて重要である。一方, 近年, 生物多様性保全で利用の側面でのカギの１つが, 生態系サービスへの支払である。本研究は, 森林, サンゴ礁, 密猟, 生態系サービスへの支払, 経済的インセンティブなど, さまざまな生物多様性保全の側面で, 利用と規制を生態系サービスに着目しながら理論・実証面から分析を行った。
For biodiversity conservation, utilization of biodiversity is expanding rather than strengthening regulation. This reflects the statement of Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), which is becoming more influential, so it is significant to consider the framework of use of biodiversity. On the other hand, a recent key concept for biodiversity conservation is Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES). This study analyzed use and regulation of biodiversity in a various aspects of biodiversity conservation such as forest, coral reef, poaching, PES and economic incentives, mentioning to ecosystem services, in terms of theoretical and empirical approaches.
