| Abstract |
入退院について年齢, 性別, 診断, 在院期間などの属性を通じた社会史的な構造をまとめて昭和戦前期の精神病院の利用のパターンを確定した。長期入院は全入院件数の5%程度で短期入院が主だったこと, 短期入院は当時の先端的な治療法を重点的に行うものであったことを明らかにした。在院中の患者の行動については, 臨床において医師の質問に対する答えや手紙・手記・伝記などの＜作品＞の形で自らについて述べたことが記録され, 医師によって保存されていたことを明らかにした。これらは『精神医療の哲学』(東大出版会, 近刊)とHistory of Madness(Routledge, forthcoming)に論文の形で発表した。
During the period of funding, I researched two aspects of psychiatric practice at Oji Brain Hospital and published their results in two academic papers. I have clarified the patterns of the use of the psychiatric hospital and found that short-term stay with the purpose of cure, which had not been often realized, was the major pattern. I have also analyzed the patients' discourse both in their reply to doctors' questions and in their original writings and drawings.
