1920–30年代は第一次大戦の戦後処理, 大恐慌, そして第二次大戦へと雪崩をうって世界が崩れていく時代であった。そのなかにあって経済分析と数学の間に深い実質的交渉が生まれ, 双方向の協力関係が育まれたのは偶然であろうか。イタリアのローザンヌ学派経済学, 景気変動の数理, ウィーンの数学・哲学の状況-これら三つの場面をデッサンしてみたい。
The period between the 1920s and 1930s was a time when the world began to crumble as it dealt with the aftermath of the battle following World War I and proceeded to tumble head first into the Great Depression and World War II. 
Was it an accident that, under these conditions, a substantial negotiation between economic analysis and mathematics was borne and a two-way cooperative relationship was fostered? 
This study tries to outline three attractive scenes in the development of mathematical economics in the interwar period: the Lausanne School in Italy, the mathematical analyses of economic fluctuations, and the circumstances in Vienna.
